This is a list of JRPGs that have woke/politicized content, in other words: modern censorship. Please note it only includes the ones that I've played or the ones that I have 100% confirmed on my own.
- Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
The localization was altered by the publisher 505 Games. The translators changed dialogue they deemed inappropriate, reduced swearing, inserted woke and left-wing remarks, turned one character into a feminist and changed the protagonist name Noah to "Nowa". Also, Marisa was never supposed to be a main character during the first years or development. It was after 505 Games became the official publisher that she started being mysteriously advertised as one. Click on the link for the full video exposing the localization. - Final Fantasy XVI
Square-Enix included a gay character who has a relationship with his assistant, and they also martyrize him at some point. There is more homosexual innuendo with other characters and feminist remarks. Also, almost zero fan service exist. Weird, considering it's a Final Fantasy game.
More info: https://censorship.fandom.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XVI - Persona 3 Reload
The entire localization team was led by a very woke translator. Most of the dialogue the team deemed as offensive was either altered, changed or removed. In the original PS2 releases, there is a scene where the male characters encounter a transexual NPC on the beach. This character was now turned into a normal woman whose dialogue is completely made up and the protagonists' reaction acts accordingly. On a side note, there are some very sexy outfits for the girls but they seem VERY flat for some reason.

Developers censored a scene where the characters encounter a couple of gay NPCs, but apparently their portrayal was deemed as offensive so it was completely altered. - Atelier Yumia
All versions have forced diversity at camp, fan service has been self-censored by the developers themselves (mostly just upskirts). - Sea of Stars
The developers added a statue in a dungeon that says "trans rights are human rights". Also, the story and dialogue feels way too safe and friendly for no apparent reason. - The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak
The localization was altered by the publisher NIS America. The translators changed dialogue they deemed offensive and sexist. The biggest change was literally making up dialogue for some scenes and characters aggressively criticizing white supremacy and capitalism. There's a femboy character whose dialogue was also altered and in one scene, the protagonist says he doesn't know his "pronouns".

The translation altered dialogue that Atlus West, the publisher, considered offensive. One character who becomes a cross-dresser to infiltrate the enemy, was completely changed into a "non-binary" by the publisher. Strangely, this was only done in the English release. The Spanish translation is faithful to the original Japanese script.

The localization changed dialogue deemed offensive. Swearing was also removed almost entirely; Eunie's dialogue was changed as several things she says are considered as inflammatory
NOTE: The character Yuzuriha (Juniper in English) is an androgynous character with a lot of controversy. Some claim it's non-binary, others claim it's a guy, others say it's a girl... Comparisons have been made with Japanese script and translations but it's unclear if it was written as one. Bizarre localization here. Some things that could be considered as offensive were left intact, while others were altered or removed. One of the recruitable soldiers, Rosetta, is either a transexual or a "non-binary". Sega has never clarified anything of the sort, but everything points out towards that. https://steamcommunity.com/app/790820/discussions/0/1742231705661104508/ - Dragon Quest III Remake
You can no longer select between male or female, only "type A and B". Several characters were censored, especially the ones showing a bit too much skin.

Strange censorship that went both ways here. Underage relationships and gay romance are actually censored, but there are characters who are openly gay. It also censored a lot of gendered language. The script in all regions (including Japan) is beyond terrible with very toned-down humor. It also includes a lot of very obvious DEI nonsense. It's like the localization censored the woke content but also made it woke but in a different way?

Takes place in England during 1918 and there's a lot of diversity, which is nonsensical considering they were going for an accurate historical portrayal of the country during that era. - Dragon Age Inquisition
Features multiple gay and trans characters and NPCs. - Dragon Age: The Veilguard
You have to have been living under a rock all this time if you need me to explain this. It's a world-wide known meme nowadays for how ridiculously woke it is. - Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord
There is a gay character who wears make-up that the others treat as basically a "they"them" because they don't know if it's a guy or a girl.
https://i.postimg.cc/Y9tQk4Qp/fairy-fencer-2-woke.png - Potion Permit
You can choose between a male or female protagonist but the characters ALWAYS refer to you as "they/them". There is also forced diversity. - Adventure Academia
Body type instead of gender on character creation. The main character's dialogue was slightly altered to make him look much more delicate and sensitive. - Virgo vs the Zodiac
The main character is a lesbian who is strongly against capitalism. Several remarks are done that constantly attack capitalism. Basically the entire story is about fighting capitalism. - Rise of the Third Power
There is a character who is black/brown and gay, married and with children. There's also another character who claims gender is meaningless. A few lines that are anti-capitalism are also there. - Live a Live Remake
All versions, including the Japanese remake, removed several lines and dialogue they seemed offensive, racist or sexist. In the fan-translation of the original Super Famicom release, you can see there is nothing of the sort.
Evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IewDZk9D820 - Death End Re;Quest Code Z
All versions include extremely obnoxious dialogue by the character Lily; she is a confirmed bisexual across the series but in this game they made her way too obsessed with Shina and literally proud to be. - Children of Zodiarcs
A cast of poor rebels and thieves fighting against the rich, but it's done in a very obvious way (anti-capitalism). - Indivisible
Questionable diversity and pro-gay message. There is a non-binary NPC using pronouns. - Maglam Lord
It is never specified if the character Satyus is male or female, who is the assistant of your MC.
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1799380/view/3218396198400401249 - Harvestella
"Non-binary" is a "gender" option when creating your MC. This is in all versions, including the Japanese original. - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Tons of forced diversity, interracial families, gay NPCs, Yuffie and Tifa are censored (including some of their outfits). - Tales of Rebirth
This is actually a fan-translation that was done in 2024. The game focuses on racism and the English dialogue seems to emphasize it a lot, apart from making some characters behaving very aggressively towards it. Since there is no evidence or comparisons between the original Japanese script and this fan-translation, I can't vouch for this but I thought I'd still include it. If I ever find evidence that the translation is faithful to the original Japanese script, I will remove this.
